You wouldn't know it to look outside, but a snow advisory has been issued for Western Nevada by the National Weather Service. According to a weather statement issued early this morning, weather conditions will deteriorate rapidly this afternoon with heavy snow and strong winds. For the Valleys, the snow advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. today to 4 p.m. Sunday, snow levels will be above 6,000 feet this afternoon lowering to 5,000 feet early Sunday morning and then to the Valley floors by Sunday afternoon, with up to 2 inches expected on elevated services below 5,000 feet. The Weather Service is warning motorists to watch out for slick surfaces on bridges and overpasses.
