Carson Valley Art Galleries' Second Saturday events on March 8 include:
-- Enjoy refreshments and meet many of the artists of the "What Is It?" exhibit at a reception, 3-5 p.m. at Artisans International Gallery, 1653 Lucerne Street, Minden Village, 783-8881. Show runs through April 19.
-- A demonstration of negative painting and textural techniques by watercolorist Teri Sweeney, 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday at Artistic Viewpoints Gallery and Studio, 1368 Highway 395, Gardnerville, 783-0633. Light refreshments served.
-- Mosaic techniques demonstrated by Janice Powell Shedd, 1-3 p.m. at East Fork Gallery, 1503 Highway 395, Gardnerville, 782-7629. Mosaics made from sea glass, broken china and pottery on display. Light refreshments served.
