National Guard helping Elko with earthquake

The Nevada National Guard is assisting state of Nevada officials today with their assessment of the damage caused by the early morning earthquake near Wells, Nev.

A Nevada Army Guard OH-58 observational helicopter has been dispatched to fly over the region today to assess any dam or reservoir damage caused by the earthquake.

A Nevada Army Guard fixed-wing C-12 aircraft is also en route to Wells with a state damage assessment team.

Governor Jim Gibbons has pledged all available assets at the Guard's disposal to assist the people of Wells and those

in Elko County.
