A Gardnerville man was injured Tuesday evening when he allegedly failed to stop at a red light at College Parkway and Highway 50 East and struck another vehicle, an official said.

Timothy Aldrich, 48, collided with another vehicle driven by Robin McGahuey, 53, who was northbound on Fariview Drive heading for College Parkway, according to Sgt. Ron Larson with the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Aldrich's GMC Jimmy ended up on its roof on the west side of the intersection.

He was pulled from the wreckage conscious and alert but was taken by ambulance to the airport where he was flown to a Reno hospital.

McGahuey complained of chest pain, but refused medical treatment at the scene.

The accident impeded traffic for about an hour.
