Arts council presents Chris Proctor in concert

Guitarist Chris Proctor will perform, 7 p.m. Feb. 22, at the CVIC Hall, 1604 Esmeralda, Minden. A wine and cheese reception begins at 6 p.m. with dessert at 9 p.m. A $10 donation will be requested at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Carson Valley Arts Council.


Proctor is the winner of the U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and a recording artist with Sugarhouse, Rounder, Flying Fish and Windham Hill Records. He is a 6- and 12-string guitarist, composer, performer and clinician for Taylor Guitars.


Proctor's music is rooted in classic Americana spiced with folk, Celtic, jazz, pop and classical flavors. He appeared on two Windham Hill guitar samplers. Taylor Guitars recently manufactured 100 Chris Proctor signature model guitars to his design specifications.


Proctor is from Utah and this will be his first concert appearance in Minden. For more information, 782-8207.
