Accident closes Highway 395 at Riverview

Southbound traffic has been stopped at Highway 395 and Riverview for a two-vehicle head-on accident at the intersection with Ray May Way.

Two small sport utility vehicles collided near the intersection, obliterating their front ends, according to Record-Courier Photographer Shannon Litz, who is on scene.

Two ambulance helicopters have been called to transport the injured from the accident and are landing in the vicinity now.

Emergency personnel from Topaz and Gardnerville responded to the accident, which is located where Highway 395 passes through the Pine Nut Mountains just south of Bodie Flat.
