School dedicates walkway to fallen trustee

Gardnerville Elementary School has dedicated a site for a garden walkway in memory of Connie Wennhold, who died in spring 2007.

Wennhold was a long-time parent volunteer and Parent Teacher Student Organization board member at Gardnerville Elementary School and was also a board member of the Douglas County School District.

Boy Scouts Steven Mathews and James Lawrence are managing the construction of the walkway for their Eagle Scout projects.

Laser-engraved donor bricks will be used to make a walkway through the garden and are available to purchase for $25. All funds raised from purchases will go to pay for the bricks and materials for their installation.

Order forms are available in the office of Gardnerville Elementary School. Deadline is Feb. 22.
