-- The birds of prey lecture and reception for all ages is Friday, Feb. 22, with wildlife biologist Gary Herron. Falconers Lew Souder and Mark Moglich will bring a North American goshawk and an ornate eagle. Cost of reception is $35 includes hors d'oeuvres and a no-host bar.

-- A two-day photography workshop offers instruction and discussion on Saturday, Feb. 23, and a nature photo shoot at a Carson Valley ranch on Sunday, Feb. 24. Cost is $60 for the two-day event. Details, contact wildlife photographer Steve Noble at momentsintimephotography@gmail.com or 265-4414.

-- To qualify for the Eagles and Agriculture photography contest, photos 5 x 7 or larger along with a CD must be submitted to Carson Valley Visitors Authority by March 7. Prizes of $125 will be awarded for best wildlife photo and best birding photos. A photo release must be signed for eligibility.
