The Speaking with Confidence 4-H Program offered by the University of Nevada, Reno, Cooperative Extension may help students when it's time to give presentations. The free course is 4-5 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 26 through March 30, at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension office, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville.
The program is designed for students ages 9-19 and includes the topics of controlling nervousness, interpreting body language, interviewing and using audio-visual aids. Participants will learn the importance of practicing and setting goals. The program is taught by Douglas County Extension educator Steve Lewis. Interested youth need not be 4-H members or pay fees.
