Gardnerville salon welcomes new faces

Two women from long-time Carson Valley ranch families have joined ranks at Blush Salon & Day Spa in Gardnerville.

Heather Stodieck, 33, has opened Skin Care by Heather in the back of the salon, offering full-body waxing, chemical peels and facials for both men and women. She will also be offering body wraps in the future.

"I am an associated skin care professional and am constantly working on accreditations," she said.

Stodieck said she offers an exclusive line of skin care products called Skin Fitness.

"They are organic and chirally correct," she said.

Stodieck is a fifth-generation Nevadan who lives on the Stodieck ranch. Stodieck's sister, Meggan Melandow, owns Blush Salon.

"I've always been drawn to the beauty industry," Stodieck said.

Ansie Scossa, 30, recently left Elations Salon to join Blush.

"I specialize in Young Nails, colored acrylic and gel," she said. "I also specialize in wedding makeup and hair."

Scossa has been in the business for eight years. Her husband is Jeremy Scossa of the Scossa Ranch.

"I have a great clientele, and would love to add to it," she said.

Scossa is available by appointment. Stodieck is available 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and evenings and weekends by appointment.

Blush Salon is located at 1267 Highway 395, Suite G. An open house will be 6 p.m. Dec. 16. Appetizers and cocktails will be served.
