Gas company technician at leak

A Southwest Gas Co. technician has arrived on scene of what personnel on scene described as a "major, major, major gas leak" at Waterloo and Highway 395 about a half mile from Gardnerville Elementary School.

The gas company's crew has yet to arrrive, however.

As of 10:55 a.m., roads in downtown Gardnerville were closed because of a 2-inch line break at a construction site.

Traffic is being diverted away from the leak.

Highway 395 is being shut down for a gas leak at the new construction across from the Raley's in Gardnerville.

Northbound traffic is being stopped at Waterloo. Southbound traffic should be diverted at Gilman.

According to broadcast reports, a2- inch pipe was struck during construction. Soutthwest Gas has been contacted.
