Summer vacation's over for the Douglas High School marching band. A mandatory meeting is 9 a.m. today. Then it's back into step for a new season. Band members are meeting in the high school's band room.

The number of voters to cast early ballots for this primary election hit 2,704 votes, 300 short of the 2004 total and well shy of the 2006 total. Hopefully, this isn't an indicator of how regular voting will go on Tuesday.

A 19-year-old Minden woman, who a prosecutor described as a heroin addict, is scheduled to face sentencing this morning in Douglas County District Court. Corrinne Dannehl will learn today whether she is going to Western Regional Drug Court. Dannehl and Phillip Steven McElvain were arrested in a June undercover drug sting.

The weather will be sunny and warm today, with a high in the low 90s. It looks like that will be the story for the rest of the week. There's a slight chance of thunderstorms on Friday, but this far out that's anyone's guess.
