Our first lightning fire of the season was quickly contained and mopped up at about 5:17 p.m.. Lightning reportedly set the Pinenut fire near Bluebird and Our Our Way. The fire was quickly knocked down and firefighters were returning home by 6:30 p.m. at the latest.

Today and Friday are the last days to vote early. After that you'll have to vote on election day at your precinct location. Either way remember to bring your sample ballot, so they can scan it and so you can take notes.

The chance of thunderstorms is down to 30 percent today and then clearing through the foreseeable future. It's going to be relatively cool over the weekend, with the high hitting 89 under sunny skies on Saturday.
