Pinon Hills student wins Nevada Wildlife fishing poster contest

Pinon Hills Elementary School fourth-grader Kiersten Boyd won the Nevada Department of Wildlife's sixth annual fishing day poster contest.

More than 160 fourth- and fifth-graders entered the contest, using crayons, markers and colored pencils to depict this year's "take me fishing" theme.

The department's free fishing day is June 14, and Kiersten's artwork will be featured on all promotional posters. Kiersten received a framed copy of her artwork and a fishing rod and reel. She and her family will also be taken on a guided fishing trip on a lake or river in Northern Nevada this summer.
