New CEO Takes Over the Reins at Carson Valley Medical Center

Carson Valley Medical Center's Board of Directors has named William Hale as Chief Executive Officer/Administrator effective April 15, 2008. Hale was the CEO of University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) from 1993-2003. During his ten years in this position, he was successful in turning a significant budget deficit into a profitable situation and UMC was recognized twice as one of the top 100 hospitals in the United States. Prior to UMC, Hale spent 13 years in various leadership roles at San Bernardino County Medical Center, including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Hale joins Carson Valley Medical Center during a time of growth and financial stability. Just four years ago, Carson Valley Medical Center (CVMC) opened a 15-bed acute care hospital - the only hospital conveniently located in the Carson Valley for patients looking for quality care close to home. Since that time, CVMC has expanded to include an Intensive Care Unit and Outpatient Infusion Center, as well as introduced several of the most technologically-advanced imaging and diagnostic equipment. It was this equipment - not commonly available at a smaller community hospital - that was one of the reasons he was interested in Carson Valley Medical Center. "I feel fortunate to be on board at Carson Valley Medical Center and look forward to a future of growth and further success of a hospital that prides itself on providing the highest quality medical care and technology available to our community," says Hale.

Once settled into his new role here at Carson Valley Medical Center, Hale is excited to become active in community groups and activities, as well as focusing on building community relationships.
