If you have a surgical procedure scheduled at the Lake Tahoe Surgical Center in Zephyr Cove, you might want to reschedule. The Nevada Health Division has issued a cease patient care order to the Lake Tahoe Surgical Center due to unsafe infection control practices identified during an unannounced inspection conducted by a Federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service survey team. The state said there is no evidence any infection had been transmitted. The center closed for four days last month after the state conducted a survey.

Former Indian Hills General Improvement District member Dianne Humble has filed an open meeting law complaint against the board's chairwoman Laura Lau. The complaint was filed April 14 and alleges that Lau and two other trustees met to discuss a vote during the meeting. Humble said Lau and board member Brian Patrick met with member Bill Eisele after the meeting to discuss his vote on a consultant's report.

It will be sunny and clear today with a high of 61 degrees. The high will climb above 70 on Thursday and then take a long slide back into the low 50s by Sunday. The National Weather Service is calling for a slight chance of snow showers.
