Shana Morrison plays CVIC Hall


The Carson Valley Arts Council presents singer, songwriter Shana Morrison, 7 p.m. Saturday at the CVIC Hall, 1604 Esmeralda Ave., Minden. Doors open at 6 p.m., concert at 7 p.m. and dessert at 8:30 p.m. A $15 donation will be requested at the door.

Carson Valley Inn entertainment


Craig Fletcher appears through Sunday and various duos entertain on Monday nights. Cabaret Lounge live entertainment is presented with no cover and no minimum in 45-minute shows at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 p.m.


Fletcher and Terri Campillo are the Craig Fletcher Duo. Fletcher sings, plays guitar and drums and produces every track of accompanying background music and vocals. Campillo adds vocals and plays percussion and an occasional blues harp.


Hotel California takes the Cabaret Lounge stage Tuesday and plays until April 20. Hotel California has reproduced the Grammy Award-winning sounds of the Eagles for more than two decades. Hotel California showcases the Eagles hits "Take it Easy," "Heartache Tonight," "Hotel California" and selected solo works of Don Henley, Glen Frey and Joe Walsh. Hotel California plays three one-hour shows each night. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday shows start at 7:15 p.m., 8:45 p.m. and 10:15 pm. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8:30 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11:30 pm.

Free concert at Borders April 19


Dream Spirit Baroque Band will play a concert of traditional and original chamber music, 6-8 p.m. April 19 at Borders Books. The free concert celebrates the completion of the band's new CD, "The Swallowtail Butterfly: Folk Chamber Music," produced by John Shipley of WZP Records in Carson City.


The CD is available at Borders Books and at www.cdbaby.com.


Players are Jack Shipley on hammer dulcimer and recorder, Jon Smart on guitar, Suzanne Stone on cello and Diana Woodbury, violin.

Pops presents spring concert


The Carson Valley Pops Orchestra presents a spring concert, 4 p.m. April 20, at the Carson Valley Christian Center, 1095 Stephanie Way, Minden. Under the direction of Danny Yale and Aaron Pellegrini, the free concert features Strauss waltzes, Broadway melodies and classical favorites.

Stars of Tomorrow talent show April 26

Acoustic jam at Eddy Street Books


Local musicians are invited for an acoustic jam, 2:30 - 5 p.m. April 27, at the Eddy Street Book Exchange. Musicians of any acoustic instrument of any level of experience or those who don't play but want to sing along are welcome.

Comedy show for Relay for Life


The American Cancer Society Relay for Life's Nailing a Cure Team presents Hypnotic Comedy Chaos with Dan Kimm, April 28 at Two Guys from Italy, 1488 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
