Big Mama's Show & Shine benefits Meals on Wheels

Make plans to spend Mother's Day at Douglas County Senior Services' eighth annual Big Mama's Show & Shine Car Show, May 10, at the Lampe Park Pavilion in Gardnerville.

This fundraiser benefits the Douglas County Senior Services Meals on Wheels program. Red's Old 395 Grill will cook pulled pork sandwiches and brats, there will be a bounce house for the kids, music from TimeWarp, a craft vendor fair, an all-day raffle and a whole park full of classic cars.

The newly crowned Miss Douglas County or Miss Carson Valley will present the Big Mama's Best of Show award.

There will be 22 classes of classic cars. Preregistration is $35 and $40 with lunch tickets. Check-in is 8-10 a.m., show & shine is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with awards presentation at 3 p.m.
