Carson Valley Community Theatre presents the "Sounds of Broadway" musical revue April 3-6 in the Shannon Ballroom at Carson Valley Inn in Minden.

The show features songs from Broadway productions such as "Cats," "Evita" and "Wicked," with a script written by CVCT member Norris Edson.

"He wrote about 20 minutes of dialogue that go with the first and second acts and tie the show together," said theater group member Margaret Edson. "A couple is reminiscing about all the Broadway shows they've seen. In the second act they play a trivia game with another couple about Broadway shows."

About 35 people started rehearsals for "Sounds of Broadway" the first weekend in March. Carson Valley resident Ann Delahay will sing "Memory" from "Cats" and Lisa Thomas will sing the title song from "Evita."

The musical review also features Carson Valley youth Melanie Bratsch and Melissa Marsh singing "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked." Mother/daughter duo Shawna and Shyla Pisciotta are also featured.

Performances of "Sounds of Broadway" include evening performances and a Sunday matinee. Friday and Saturday dinner shows and the Sunday brunch show packages are available at $45 for general admission, $42 for students and seniors 60 years and older. The event includes a silent auction.
