The R-C Morning Report

The passenger in a vehicle that rammed a Washoe Tribal Police unit that was chasing it is expected to be sentenced today. Fidel Fuentes, 26, is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court after admitting to one count of possession of a stolen firearm. While he didn't admit he had the gun, he said he was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Robert Hernandez during a police chase between Stewart and Indian Hills on March 12.

Hernandez, eluded authorities and was arrested April 29 in Palm Springs, Calif.

Night work on the median of Highway 395 between Muller Lane and Carson City is supposed wrap up tonight. However, it will be back starting back up again on Friday. According to the Nevada Department of Transportation the work will be going from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., which is different than the night work they have been doing. The first three miles of Kingsbury going up from the Lake side will be down to one lane with delays of 10 minutes 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday.

Temperatures didn't quite drop below freezing on my side of the Valley, but they came close. It's 32 degrees out right now and it's cooler going up the mountain. However, both Minden and Gardnerville are holding steady at 36, so the inversion may not be holding down the cold. But if your garden didn't freeze last night, it may tonight. The National Weather Service is calling for the temperatures to drop to 30 overnight tonight. The high today is expected to hit 63.
