Peddlers Fair celebrates a decade in Genoa Sept. 29-30

Get ready for a weekend of fun, food and drink at the 10th annual Genoa Peddlers Fair 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29-30. The fair benefits, in part, the Carson Valley Pops Orchestra who could not continue to provide free concerts to the community without the support of donations. The Genoa Peddlers Fair, the Home and Garden Tour and the antique shows in Genoa provide much needed funds to the orchestra.

After you have shopped the fair, enjoy a bite to eat while sitting in the shade of the large apple trees, be spellbound by the view and relax to music in the large gardens that surround the historic Dake House, one of Genoa's oldest houses, on the outskirts of Genoa and home of Antiques Plus.

This year's fair will offer designer sunglasses and handbags, electrified birdhouses, embroidered Kimonos, jewelry, antiques and collectibles, yard art, garden swings and carts and the list of items keeps growing.

No Peddlers Fair or Candy Dance is complete without attending the dinner/dance Saturday night. Enjoy a Tex-Mex buffet provided by David Walley's Hot Springs Resort and Restaurant, live entertainment by Dealer's Choice with guest appearance by Lolli Jones. Ticket sales end today for the dinner dance.

As always, handicap parking is free in the Peddlers Fair parking lot. The only access to the parking lot is from the south end of town.

The Peddlers Fair can be found on the south end of Genoa, next to the post office.

Genoa is located seven miles west of Minden, 12 miles east of Lake Tahoe and 12 miles south of Carson City.
