Fires continue to pump smoke into Valley

The 63,418-acre Moonlight fire continues to pump smoke into western Nevada. The fire is burning northwest of Reno in heavy timber. A dry air mass over the area is contributing to fire activity, but a predicted cold front bringing higher winds did not make an appearance. Crews have a line less than a third of the way around the fire and mandatory evacuations remain in effect.
