Big Daddy's expands to include ski rentals

Big Daddy's Bicycles & Fitness is expanding its services to include ski rentals and associated goods.

Keith Hart said the business will start renting, maintaining and demonstrating skis this year.

"We decided to expand last summer after we've been getting a lot of requests," he said. "We invested a bunch of money in skis and waxes."

Hart said the business, which has been open for 17 years, will be filling a niche that is unavailable in the Valley.

The business will be open later on Fridays and Saturdays to accommodate weekend rentals. For more information, call 782-7077.

Cool Cars moves

to Johnson Lane

VT Cool Cars has recently moved to Johnson Lane across from the Starbucks plant.

For 7 years, the company has specialized in rebuilding hot rods for car enthusiasts of Carson Valley, doing everything from body modification to chassis and suspension work.

Cool Cars' new address is 2480 Precision Drive, Unit K in Johnson Lane.

Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. An open house will be Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring free hotdogs and drinks. For more information, call 267-6533.

Villa san Marcel

Villa san Marcel has a new chef and is open Friday and Saturday nights for appetizers, entrées (such as chicken Alfredo, shrimp scampi) as well as appetizers, full bar and music, according to owner Sheri Asay.

The restaurant, located in the Minden Ironwood Center, has undergone some changes while it was closed, Asay said.
