'If Walls Could Talk' coming to area



"If Walls Could Talk" the weekly series Sundays on Home & Gardens TV, is coming to the area to film homes with intriguing pasts and unusual stories. Now in production on its ninth season, the series is about homeowners who make surprising historical discoveries about their homes as they explore and restore them. Some might learn from the "If Walls Could Talk" appraiser that the historic artifacts discovered are worth a fortune.


Each half-hour episode features homeowners from across the country who share their amazing discoveries. Recent stories include:


A Connecticut family moves into a neglected 1800s Victorian only to find antiques and a mysterious locked cabinet. What they find inside tells the touching story of their home's original owner. In the attic they discover original paintings and the "If Walls Could Talk" appraiser pays them a visit. The expert reveals their discoveries are worth thousands of dollars.


A couple's dream home was a bank at the turn of the century where they find the original bank vault of still locked safety deposit boxes.


A Colorado couple find books, clothing and jewelry that belong to a best-selling author who lived in the house until she disappeared.


A New York bachelor's 100-year-old mansion discovers his home sweet home used to be a funeral home.
