Jimmy Ed Johnson


1931-2007


A graveside service is 11 a.m. Saturday, at Eastside Memorial Cemetery in Minden for Jimmy Ed Johnson, 75, who died Oct. 8, 2007 in Gardnerville.


Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Merkel, Texas, to Ruble Wills and Lena Johnson. A resident of Gardnerville for 15 years, he previously lived in Torrance, Calif. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict. He was co-owner of Far West Interiors in Paramount, Calif., for 15 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Carpenters Local 1506 Union in Southern California and was president of Southern California Drywall Association in 1988. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a member of the American Legion. He was involved in and managed Little League. He loved to fish, play golf and shooting pool.


He was preceded in death by his wife Margie Johnson in December 2005. He is survived by his son Gary Johnson of Gardnerville; his daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Tito Del Prado of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Leslie and Brian Le Van of Litchfield, Ariz. and Kim and Tom Berry of Green Valley, Ariz.; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Gale Bernhardt of Green Valley, Ariz.; also six grandchildren Brett Downing, Michelle Del Prado, Vincent Del Prado, Cole Berry, Lucas Berry, Shanne Johnson and one great-grandchild on the way.

Anna Marie Nuttall


1961-2007


A celebration of life is 11 a.m., Saturday, at The Gardens Chapel in Fallon for Anna Marie Nuttall, 46, who died Oct. 2, 2007, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center with family by her side.


Mrs. Nuttall was born Oct. 2, 1961, in Pomona, Calif., to Donald and Donna (Hamer) Garcia. The family moved to the South Lake Tahoe area when she was a small child, she graduated from South Lake Tahoe High School.


She lived in Reno for the last year, moving there from Fallon where she had lived for many years. She was working as a loan processor for Sierra Pacific Mortgage Co. in Reno at the time of her death. When she lived in Fallon she had been a legal secretary for many years and also worked for Stewart Title Co.


Anna was an outgoing person who loved to socialize. She enjoyed being able to help out her friends, she loved the outdoors, riding horses was always special.


Anna is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Blades of Henderson; her parents, Don and Donna Garcia of Lake Tahoe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Bonnie Garcia of Carson City; Mike and Eve Garcia; sister, Teri Byers, sister and brother-in-law Lisa and Mark Schenzel, all of Gardnerville; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Cory, Krissy, Jamie, Alicia, Mitch, Dustry, Karen, Holly, Amy and Chelsie, two special young men in her life Jessie and Logan Nuttall.

Nadine Kimberly Thornburg


1966-2007


A memorial mass is 10 a.m. today at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville for Nadine Kimberly Thornburg, 40, who died in Gardnerville Oct. 5, 2007.


Mrs. Thornburg was born Oct. 13, 1966, in Chicago to Lawrence T. and Delores "Dee" Haines. She married Ron J. Thornburg on Sept. 17, 1988, in Genoa. She lived in South Lake Tahoe for 26 years before moving to Gardnerville. She worked as an escrow officer for 10 years in South Lake Tahoe and enjoyed the beach at the Lake. She liked reading and spending time with her friends. She was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church.


Mrs. Thornburg is survived by her husband Ron J. Thornburg of South Lake Tahoe; her son Brandon J. Thornburg of Gardnerville; her daughter Chloe M. Thornburg of South Lake Tahoe; sister Lori Mendenhall of Sparks; brother Scott Haines of Gardnerville; her parents; and her grandmother Isabel Zilius of Gardnerville.
