Snow starting to stick at Zephyr Cove

Douglas County Sheriff's deputies reported that snow is starting to stick to Highway 50 from Zephyr Cove east.

Snow flurries have been spotted in the foothill area of Carson Valley.

Residents woke to Jobs Peak sporting a new coat of the white stuff.

Road controls are in effect on Highway 88 over Carson Pass. The California Highway Patrol is requiring chains over the pass.

The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement at 8:19 a.m. that lake effect snows with accumulations of up to 3 inches are affecting Lake Tahoe. The band should shift to the southeastern portion of the Lake by this afternoon.
