Forty homes between County Road and 5th Street in Minden lost their power on Thursday evening as a result of a tree trimming accident, according to public relations officer of Sierra Pacific Power Karl Walquist.
"It occurred around 5 p.m. because of errant tree trimming where a limb fell on a power line," said Walquist. "Crews where notified and repaired the wire and restored power to the homes by 9 p.m."
Walquist said he didn't know who was performing the tree trimming, but that it wasn't anyone with Sierra Pacific.
