More than a third of an inch of rain fell in parts of Carson Valley on Sunday as a wet weather system arrived in Western Nevada. The same storm dropped 3 inches of snow in Kirkwood. Ski season arrives in Douglas County on Friday, when Heavenly opens for the season.

There's a big old patch of fog following the river this morning, and it's 23 degrees out just before sunrise. Today is forecast to be partly sunny with a high at 52 degrees. High temperatures will warm up in the middle of the week and then there is a chance of rain over the weekend.
