Memorial service set for George Lever IV

George John Lever IV

1966-2007

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. today for George John Lever IV for at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 891 Mahogany Road in Minden

Mr. Lever IV was born Sept. 28, 1966, to Lynne and George Lever III, in Ukiah, Calif., died on Nov. 1, 2007, at his home in Gardnerville. The Levers moved to the Carson Valley in 1968, and George attended Douglas County schools, graduating from Douglas High School in 1985. Lever participated in FFA, VICA, ski club and the high school rodeo team as a bull rider.

After high school, Lever enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as a B-52 and KC-135 aircraft mechanic in Minot, N.D. during his four-year military stint. Thereafter, he was trained and worked in the bio-tech pharmaceutical field as a technician in northern California for three years before returning to Gardnerville to live.

He recently lived in McCall, Idaho, for two years before once again returning to the Carson Valley. He was a journeyman plumber and worked for York Plumbing for years and was last employed by Kollar Plumbing. He also owned and operated a concrete coring business known as High Mountain Coring and Saw Cutting.

Lever was an active outdoorsman whose interests included motorcycles, snowmobiles, hunting, rock climbing, paintball, golf and NASCAR. He enjoyed rock 'n roll music, tinkering with all things mechanical and hanging out with his close circle of friends and family. Lever was best known for bringing a smile to everybody's face, no matter what the circumstance.

Lever is survived by his mother, Lynne Cauley, his son, Kyle Lever, father George Lever, step-father Ron Cauley, brother Shane Cauley, grandmother Velma Heater, grandfather Bill Philips, uncle Mike Philips, Sr., uncle Richard Lever, cousin Mike Philips, Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
