The Morning R-C

There is still no word on the whereabouts of former Douglas High School student Anthony Schober, who is one of three soldiers reportedly taken hostage during a weekend ambush in Iraq.

More than 4,000 troops combed Mahmoudiya, 20 miles south of Baghdad, searching for the soldiers.

"The news of the three missing soldiers has all of America praying for their quick and safe return," U.S. Senator Harry Reid of Nevada said Monday. "This news is particularly saddening for the people of Nevada as we hearthat one of our own is among the missing.

"I know the military is doing everything it can to locate the soldiers. My thoughts and prayers are with the missing soldiers, their family and friends and the servicemen and women who are putting their lives on the line to bring them to safety."

Schober attended Douglas as a sophomore and junior between 1999 and 2001.

Should be sunny and warm today with a high of 82 degrees. Venture too far up north and it may get a littler hotter as Reno is expecting a high of 86 or 87 degrees this afternoon. Wasn't it still winter two weeks ago?
