The R-C Morning Report

Gardnerville Town Manager Jim Park has clicked up into contention for the position of Lyon County manager. Park is at the bottom of the list of finalists after a candidate from Georgia dropped out. At present Lyon is being managed by Minden Town Board member and Douglas County manager emeritus Bob Hadfield. I wish Park luck, and given what happened to the last Lyon County manager, luck could mean a lot of things.

The Douglas County growth ordinance gets a second hearing tonight at or after 5 p.m. at the commissioner meeting in Minden. The county has set aside 90 minutes for the discussion, but these tend to go later.

Today we're in the cusp between a couple of storms, but we're looking at some wind today with the chance of precipitation increasing to this evening. The chance of precipitation tonight is up to 60 percent with a chance of snow showers on Friday. Reports are that big fat flakes were falling at Kingsbury last night. Chains or snow tires are being required to get over Carson Pass.
