Carson Valley Inn receives state safety recognition

The Safety Consultation and Training Section of the State of Nevada's Division of Industrial Relations has recognized the Carson Valley Inn in Minden for successful completion of the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program. This is the second time they have received this honor.

The no-cost recognition program is designed to assist employers to develop and implement effective safety and health programs. The program assists businesses to improve their return on investment, be in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and create added value of safety and health in reducing their accident costs.

Employers who are able to implement effective safety and health programs and have a day away restricted transfer rate below the national average for their industry group will be recognized by the consultants. Successful participants receive a two-year exemption from OSHA's general schedule inspections.

For more than 20 years, the Carson Valley Inn, based in Minden, has been a popular hotel/casino with locals and tourists. Starting in 1984 with only a restaurant and a handful of slots and table games, the Carson Valley Inn has expanded to now include 152 hotel rooms, a 75-room motor lodge, 59 RV sites, a casino, three dining facilities, two lounges, nightly live cabaret entertainment, 6,000-plus square feet of convention and banquet room, a wedding chapel and an indoor pool, spa and fitness facility.
