If you're looking for some fun family entertainment, check out Scarselli Elementary's annual Talent Show on March 29. There are two performances scheduled in the multi-purpose room; the afternoon show starts at 3:30 and an evening show kicks off at 6:30.
The show features performances by students in grades 4-6, all of whom have spent the last several weeks fine tuning their acts. The lineup includes dancers, singers, instrumentalists, a gymnast and an animal act. There is also a special teacher performance planned, which is always great fun.
Snacks and beverages are available for purchase at both shows. In addition, pizza can be purchased at the evening show starting at 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $2 per student, $3 per adult, or $7 for a family. All proceeds from the show benefit the Scarselli Scholarship Fund, which awards money to former students who are graduating from Douglas High. Any Douglas senior who attended Scarselli during elementary school is eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Some of you may remember that in the past, there has also been a silent auction at the evening show. This year, a decision was made to hold the auction during one of the school's Family Nights, which will be held sometime in May. The proceeds from the auction also go toward the scholarship fund.
Also, please note that our area schools are going to be out of session for spring break, April 2-13.
Ranchos Roundup on temporary hiatus
I want to let you know that the Ranchos Roundup column won't run in the paper for the next month or so. My family is expanding to include another little one and I am scheduled to deliver baby No. 2 next week.
My husband, Scott, and I don't know if we are having a boy or a girl and are eager to find out how our toddler son, Sam, will handle having a little brother or sister. He talks about the baby a lot and seems aware of what is going on, so it will be interesting to see what happens once the wee one arrives.
Also, if you're willing to share any experiences or suggestions you think might be helpful as we make the transition from a family of three to a family of four, I'd surely welcome them.
Happy spring!
