Crews responded to a report of a wildfire near Alpine County at about 2 p.m. Wednesday.
First responders said it appeared to be in the grass with more smoke than anything else.
A spokesperson for the Sierra Front Wildfire dispatch center said the fire was reportedly near the Neddenriep Ranch.
