Tickets on sale for upcoming annual Taste of Gardnerville


Tickets are now available for the Fourth Annual Taste of Gardnerville to be held starting at 5 p.m. on Aug. 4. This is a walking tour of the restaurants and shops along Main Street (Highway 395) from Mill to Mission streets. Participants can browse in the shops, taste the food and enjoy the musicians scattered along the way.

The "Taste" is an annual fundraiser for the Douglas County Historical Society. Tickets can be purchased in advance of the event at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, Genoa Court House Museum and the Paradise Café, 1483 Highway 395 in Gardnerville. The cost is $20 per person.

Begin the evening at the Carson Valley Museum where there will be music, food and plenty of parking as well as soft drinks, wine and a display of books from the Main Street Bookstore inside the museum. Taste the food at Overland Basque Restaurant, Shady Grove Coffee Co., Rancho Grande, the JT Basque Bar & Dining Room, Two Guys from Italy, Woodett's, Papa Murphy's Pizza, Port of Subs and the Paradise Café. Visit such shops as Baby Willow, Fresh Ideas, Classical Glass, Cheshire Antiques and Country Carousel.
