A 23-year-old Bay area man who tried to register as a Douglas High School student with an altered passport is scheduled to be sentenced this morning in district court.

Bradley J Coushman faces up to four years in Nevada State Prison and a $5,000 fine if Judge Michael Gibbons determines his crime of attempted possession of a document to establish false identity is a felony. If Gibbons instead decides to treat it as a gross misdemeanor, Coushman would face up to a year in the Douglas County Jail and a $2,000 fine.

Coushman tried to enroll at Douglas High on Sept. 11, 2006.

The Larson fire, which blew up a week ago and threatened the town of Coleville, was completely contained as of Sunday night. A Burned Area Emergency Response Team is assessing long-term rehabilitation on the fire. The cost of fighting the fire was $2.2 million.

High temperatures this week will start out cool and warm up fast. The mercury is expected to crack 93 degrees by Thursday. The high today is predicted to be 81 degrees, warming up to 87 by

Tuesday.
