Operation Gratitude collects at Days

On behalf of the Operation Gratitude non-profit organization, the Douglas County Democratic Women and the Douglas County Democratic Central Committee will be collecting items for our troops in Iraq at the Carson Valley Days Parade and celebration June 9-10. Items will be collected along the parade route and at the booth in Lampe Park.

Please bring the following gifts.

-- The fun stuff: computer flash drives, DVDs, CDs, disposable cameras, screen printed T-Shirts, socks, mini-fans, bandana Cool-Ties, small games, novelties, Beanie Babies, packs of stationary, pens.

-- Food (individually, commercially packaged only): trail mix, jerky, Pringles, dried fruit, cookies (especially Girl Scouts), nuts and seeds, energy, Power or granola bars; cheese-peanut butter and crackers, powdered hot and cold drinks, ready-to-eat tuna or chicken salad packs, breath mints, gum.

-- Sundries (travel-size only): tissues, lip-balm, roll-on antiperspirant, toothpaste, individually packaged toothbrushes, individually wrapped towelettes, foot powder.
