The R-C Morning Report

A second meeting discussing the Highway 395 corridor is 6:30 tonight in the CVIC Hall in downtown Minden. This time the Nevada Department of Transportation will be looking at Highway 395 south of the intersection with 88 all the way to the California border. While it will be good to go and see what the state has in mind, all the plans are purely conceptual and the state is just looking for input. P.S. the Regional Transportation Meeting is at 5 p.m. in the commissioners' chambers of the Douglas County Administration Building.

Today is the eighth annual Senior Health Fair in the Shannon Ball Room of the Carson Valley Inn. More than 50 health care providers will have booths at the fair and the rides will include the whirly blood pressure check from 9 a.m. to noon and tilt-a-massage therapy 9-11 a.m. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The senior fashion show is at 1:30 p.m.

Looks like more of the same on the weather front, sunny to partly cloudy skies with the high temperature climbing through the week until it almost hits 60 on Sunday. Lows will climb into the 20s by the weekend. Before sunrise it is 15 degrees in Genoa. No precipitation is being predicted for the Valley through the first week of February.
