Teen party host cited for underage drinking

The 18-year-old host of a party attended by about two dozen teenagers Saturday was cited for minor consuming after deputies were called to the residence in the 1300 block of Santa Cruz on noise complaints.

When deputies arrived shortly before 11 p.m., they were asked to wait while the teenage boy who answered the door said he would look for the homeowner.

Officers could see in the residence and said at least 20 teenagers were scurrying and fleeing in multiple directions.

When it became obvious the young man wasn't returning and the teenagers appeared intoxicated, officers entered the residence for a welfare check.

The party guests were rounded up in the living room to wait for their parents who were called to pick them up.

The 18-year-old was cited for minor consuming alcohol and given a verbal warning for contributing to the delinquency of minors.

His blood-alcohol content was .108, over the legal limit of .08 for driving in Nevada.
