The R-C Morning Report

Karen Bodden, who is suspected of shooting aircraft mechanic husband, Robin Bodden, will appear in East Fork Justice Court today. Bodden has been in custody since she was arrested in September for embezzling funds from her husband's business after he allegedly disappeared. She was scheduled to go to trial on those charges on Wednesday, but they may be folded into the murder charges announced by Douglas County District Attorney Mark Jackson on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has continued to update its special weather statement that we are facing some winter weather starting Wednesday, although they are slowing it down a little bit. According to the statement a cold low pressure system will come in on Wednesday with strong, gusty winds on Wednesday night and into Thursday. Blowing dust is a definite possibility in desert areas of the county. Snow levels will start at 5,500 feet but will lower to the Valley floor. Accumulations of two feet are possible in the mountains. It will allegedly keep snowing lightly on Thursday. If any of this does come to pass, expect winter driving conditions through Friday morning.

It's fat Tuesday, which means its Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I think I'll celebrate by having some oatmeal and going to work. Whoo hoo. There are no road controls and no accidents as of this moment in Douglas County. The temperature in Genoa at sunrise is 23 degrees and the barometer is falling. The high today is supposed to hit 56 degrees and low tonight is predicted to drop to just below freezing.
