The R-C Morning Report

A convicted arsonist was arrested in the Gardnerville Ranchos in connection with more than a dozen cases of vandalism. David Scott Killen, 22, was arrested after deputies spotted a small black car matching the description of one passing when windows in Carson City and Douglas County were broken. Killen was arrested and taken to Douglas County jail on suspicion of misdemeanor assault and destruction of property. He is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail. The Nevada Appeal is reporting that Killen was convicted of a series of arsons in Douglas County, Carson City, Virginia City and Alpine County in 2002. He was paroled in August.

The National Weather Service is calling for a 40 percent chance of snow showers today and I think I spotted a squall up Johnson Lane way on my way into work. There are no road controls in the Valley, but interestingly, there are on Highway 208 about five miles east of Holbrook Junction going to Wellington. Carson Pass is also showing chains or snow tires required.
