Local musician: Ricketts performs at Comma Coffee

Only 18 years old, Minden resident Miles Ricketts is a singer/songwriter who has been performing in the Carson Valley/Carson City area for years.

He writes all of his own songs, and plays the guitar. He has made recordings, that are available to those who want them.

"You have to get them from me personally," said Ricketts.

He performs at Comma Coffee in Carson as a main venue.

"I plan to move to Newport, and follow up with Drive-thru Records," said Ricketts.

He began performing in his bedroom, but his friends convinced him to perform his songs rather than keep playing them in private. Now he has a group of loyal fans.

"I get my inspiration from everything: other music, books, pictures, people, triple cheeseburgers. My music has gotten more depth and less boundaries. I have always written songs that I would personally like and listen to, even if it was written by another person. I write what I like to hear," said Ricketts.
