Minden resident joins Tastefully Simple

Minden resident Michelle Azevedo has become a consultant with Tastefully Simple, the national direct seller of easy-to-prepare gourmet foods.

"About 10 months ago I became a stay-at-home mom," said Azevedo. "I was already buying Tastefully Simple's food because it's really good, and I decided to look into what I could do with the company."

As a consultant, Azevedo will offer the company's gourmet foods and beverages to guests at home taste-testing parties. Guests will receive samples, easy meal ideas, recipes and serving suggestions.

"We offer a full line of desserts, including the chocolate ugly cake," said Azevedo. "The most famous product is our beer bread, with milk and butter poured on top."

Azevedo said the company also sells an assortment of spices.

"Usually, no recipe requires more than two ingredients to make," she said. "You use stuff you find in your refrigerator, like sour cream."

Azevedo said she'll host parties at her house to give people the chance to taste her products.
