Chains mandatory over 80, 88

Chains are mandatory over Interstate 80 and Highway 88, but it looks like either chains or snow tires will get you over Highway 50 if your headed over the Sierra. Chains or snow tires will also get you most of the way around Lake Tahoe and over the Mount Rose summit, according to Safe Travel USA. The only flatland controls is the high wind warning through Washoe Valley. The weather looks like it will stay quiet this morning, but be careful in the mountains tonight. Whether is snows or not, the winds will be whipping stuff up and lowering visibility.
