Out of business

Four well-known Carson Valley businesses are either in the process of closing or have closed in the past two months.

Cook's Pantry, seller of gourmet cookware next to Coyote Grill in Gardnerville, is near its last day of operation.

The Watermelon Patch, a gift shop in Minden, is also closing its doors.

Paradise Café, which has been on The Record-Courier's best of list for many years closed in November.

"Thank you for calling Paradise Café," according to a message on the answering machine. "Sorry, we have gone out of business. Have a nice day."

Just Roses near Minden Village vanished without a trace. What was its office next to Subway is now a vacant building with a "For Lease" sign out front.

There is no indication the business moved elsewhere, no contact information, just an empty office and a disconnected phone.
