Bail $145,500 on meth charge

A 52-year-old Indian Hills man was jailed Friday on $145,500 bail charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

John Barton Wallace is to appear before East Fork Judge Jim EnEarl on Wednesday. He told the judge he could afford to hire his own lawyer.

Officers from Tri-NET Narcotics Task Force and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team searched Wallace's residence early Friday and found 15 hypodermic needles and small, clear plastic bags.

They also recovered four 1-inch-by-2-inch plastic bags which each contained 5 grams of what was believed to be methamphetamine.

In addition, there were 40-50 unknown pills in a prescription bottle.
