Planning commissioners will hear a request from Sunridge Corp. for a variety of changes requested to build a casino south of Indian Hills in northern Carson Valley. Among the changes sought are a variance of the height restriction to 100 feet, an amendment to the existing special use permit for the casino, a zoning map amendment and the correction of a mapping error. Planning commissioners meet 1 p.m. at the Douglas County Administrative Building, 1616 Eighth St.

Genoans may ratify their new town manager at tonight's 6:30 p.m. strategic planning session. Granite Bay, Calif., resident Andrew Sheehy was offered the position of town manager last week. Sheehy is a Marine Corps veteran and most recently a teacher in Panorama City, Calif. His resume lists four years with Lutheran Social Services of Southern California, where he was executive director for nine months.

Genoans will meet in the Town Hall.

Douglas County School Board will discuss a 2.5 percent salary increase for district administrators in 2007-2008 school year and a 4 percent increase in the following year. Starting administrator salaries are also on the table to be increased in order to attract more local candidates. Trustees meet starting 3:30 p.m. at Douglas High School in Minden
