Henderson man arrested for OxyContin pill sales

A 28-year-old Henderson man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly sold 69 OxyContin pills to an undercover operative in the parking lot of a Gardnerville shopping center.

Matthew Jordan Chaytor was booked into the Douglas County Jail charged with sales of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $25,000 cash.

"OxyContin is a powerful prescription pain medication that is a synthetic derivative of opium," said Sgt. Dan Britton. "It is one of the most widely abused prescription drugs and is increasingly being used by teenagers and young adults."

Chaytor is to appear in East Fork Justice Court today.

He was arrested by the sheriff's office Street Enforcement Team.
