Soroptimists selling cookbooks

Soroptimist International of Carson Valley is selling cookbooks in time for the holiday season. The cookbook, "Great Recipes from Soroptimist International Carson Valley" is available for $15 at Artisans International Gallery, Café Bella Vita, Carson Valley Inn Gift Shop, Sweetie Pies and Tumblewind Antiques through Christmas.

All proceeds from the sale of the cookbooks will be given to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center as part of the club's long-term project.

A sample recipe from Soroptimist club member Jeri Johnson is included:

Chicken and Artichoke Hearts

4 chicken breasts

6 ounce jar of marinated artichoke hearts

Salt and pepper

1 can cream of chicken soup

Butter

Paprika

Cook chicken in butter, salt, pepper and paprika. Place in 9x13 inch baking pan. Mix soup and artichoke hearts including the marinade and pour over chicken.

Bake covered at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
