Food closet thanks those who made donations in July

The hot July temperatures didn't hamper the flow of donations from the community. The Carson Valley Community Food Closet extends thanks to those who donated for the month of July.


The following contributions were received (in pounds): Russell's Mercantile (24), Mike Smith (76), Bob and Gail Nault (35), Polyphaser (73), Ruhenstroth Volunteer Fire Department (35), St. Gall Catholic Church (279), Johnson Lane Baptist Church (8), Unity Church of Today (111), Farmers Market/Gardnerville (1,038), Trinity Lutheran Church (15) and Critter Junction (35). Regular grocery contributors: Scolari's, Raley's, Smith's, Starbucks, Trader Joe's, Costco and Pony Espresso.


Cash donations received: Marc and Noreen Duryee, Coventry Cross Episcopal Church, J. Johnson, Walter and John Rose, Kevin O. The Carson Valley Community Food Closet is located at 1255 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. Hours are 1-4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday. Donations can be dropped off during business hours. Please contact Eileen Boettiger, director, at 782-3711 for further information.
